Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee and daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, announced on Friday that she and the RNC are working to raise a veritable army of "over 100,000 poll watchers and over 500 lawyers" to "deploy" at election sites across the country in November.

This initiative, aimed at ensuring the integrity of the upcoming presidential election, marks one of the largest such efforts in recent history. The RNC plans to mobilize these volunteers to observe every step of the election process, including ballot counting and the handling of mail-in ballots.

"Our biggest goals this year with the Trump campaign are to get out the vote and protect the ballot," said Trump, speaking at a Republican National Committee event in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She emphasized the importance of transparency and engagement in the electoral process, stating that it was one of the best ways to help skeptics feel confident in the many safeguards baked into the election process.

The scale of the effort is massive, with plans to deploy over 100,000 poll watchers and over 500 lawyers. The RNC will also set up hotlines allowing poll watchers to report issues quickly and efficiently, with the goal of ensuring that any potential irregularities are addressed promptly.

The move has drawn criticism from some who fear that the deployment of such a large number of poll watchers could lead to the harassment of election workers. However, RNC co-chairman Michael Whatley dismissed these concerns, stating that "Our people will be taught to be respectful and non-threatening, but to also follow the law."

Despite these assurances, the initiative has been met with skepticism from some quarters, with many pointing out that widespread voter fraud is exceptionally rare. However, the RNC maintains that the effort is necessary to ensure the integrity of the election and to prevent any potential irregularities.

As the 2024 presidential election approaches, all eyes will be on this massive election integrity initiative and its potential impact on the voting process.
